When I arrived at the Los Angeles Times in 2007, one of my primary assignments was to art direct the Sunday Business cover. Davan Maharaj, who is now the Editor and Publisher of the Times, was named Business Editor earlier that year, and we made a huge push to make the Sunday Biz section a destination for readers with great content and arresting visuals. Through the years, I made fantastic contacts with freelance illustrators from the around the world, folks I still do business with today. That exposure and those relationships I built remain among my career highlights.
